'Highly rated for it's simple rules, extremely exciting atmosphere, and accurate representation of the world'

'I see it as a good exercise to build a team, to practice optimal methods of team communication and decision making principles'

'I found it a very powerful (and exciting) way to experience how teams function under pressure, and to see agile teams learn and adapt. Reinforced very well the need to open communication, trust and commitment to shared goals. Very easy to panic or to miss crucial information, whereas when the team is executing together well then there is calm and time to reflect.'

We identified a few key priority areas where we can apply the agile principles we learnt. I am amazed at what we were able to accomplish as a team, with Sue's excellent facilitation and the game we played not only helped us apply what we learnt but we also had a lot of fun doing it!

How it works?
The agile simulation game can be played with a minimum of 5 and a maximum of 150 players, divided into teams of between 5 and 9 members. We are certified Gamemasters and as such we set up the room appropriately, provide all the teams with instructions on how to play and supervise the game. Each player receives a pin code on their smartphone which enables them to log into the virtual part of the game. The game takes place simultaneously in the virtual and real space. During the first round of the game there is a lot happening as the team/s respond to unexpected events, just as in the real world. Following the first round the team/s hold a retrospective to learn from the first round and choose which agile principles they want to improve on/experiment with in the second round. The difference in the second round is amazing to witness! |
